„Das Leben in vollen Zügen“ is a deliberately ambiguous term. In German, it is used, in the phrase "Das Leben in vollen Zügen genießen," which translates into English as “enjoying life to the fullest”. On the other hand, it also literally means” life in crowded trains”. And it is hard to enjoy life in cramped completely full trains. Musically, recordings from trains and train stations meet electronic soundscapes that aim to underscore and contrast the moods and sounds of the recordings. The intention is to create moods that make journeys through different times of day and regions comprehensible. Regional trains with chatting commuters and hard-to-understand announcements as well as hectic large stations of metropolises, through which thousands of travelers rush. The recordings are from the last ten years and were recorded with a smartphone and mp3 recorder. Some are used abstractly and slowed down a lot, while others are clearly intelligible and unchanged. After a long hiatus, this is a new album from StillStand that combines electronic ambient, experimentation and field recordings.
